About Me

Hey there, I'm Nora Gomez, a dynamic and results-driven professional with a knack for making the impossible possible. With years of experience in project management, business analysis, and administration, I've mastered the art of turning challenges into triumphs.  When I'm not optimizing processes or leading teams to success, you can find me exploring new adventures and enjoying life to the fullest with my husband and children.  I'm also a proud mother of four wonderful children and the grandmother of one granddaughter.  I enjoy working in my garden and relaxing at home with my family.

My Professional Commitments

Village Administrator for the Village of South Chicago Heights

Since April 2017, I've been the village administrator for the Village of South Chicago Heights, where I make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. I've created and implemented policies and have significantly improved our community services.  My role involves working with various departments to streamline processes and ensure everything operates like a well-oiled machine. Plus, as the village’s grant writer, I’ve successfully secured funding for key projects that benefit our community.  I manage the village’s budgets and resources with precision, ensuring the Village’s projects and initiatives are executed flawlessly.  My role as the Village Administrator allows me to make a tangible impact on the Village’s operations and overall quality of life.

Elected Township Assessor for Bloom Township

As the elected Township assessor for Bloom Township since 2014 I am responsible for assisting our taxpayers with their property tax needs.  This role requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of property laws and market trends.  I take pride in advocating for our taxpayer’s fair and accurate assessments through the Cook County Assessor’s Office.  Also, it plays a crucial role in our local government’s operations and revenue.

My role both as an elected official and appointed employee gives me the opportunity to develop and execute programs to engage and support our community members.  I can build on relationships, foster community spirit, and create initiatives that bring people together.  My focus and career goals are to enhance public services and make our communities a better place to live.

I am a Proud alumnus of Bloom High School, Chicago Heights, IL and Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, IL.

Other commitments include service as a Board Member for the Cook County Township Assessors Association (CCTAA) -Executive Board, Chicago Heights Library Board and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB).

Accreditations include Certified Illinois Assessing (CIAO) Officer, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer and Open Meetings Act (OMA) Officer.

Each of my roles has been a steppingstone, allowing me to refine my skills and make a tangible impact on the communities I serve.  Whether it’s optimizing processes, managing budgets, engaging with community members, assessing properties, or board member involvement, I’ve dedicated myself to making a positive difference in every position I’ve held.  My journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and I’m proud of the work I’ve done and the communities I’ve helped along the way.
