A water application and a security deposit are required to start water service, no later than 10 days after a “certificate of occupancy” has been issued. The applicant will be required to present a government issued photo ID and must provide proof of residency at the service location (lease or closing documents).
Water service is billed on a bimonthly basis-two months in arrears. They are due on or before the date indicated on the water bill. A 10% penalty of the total bill amount will be assessed after the due date. If the water bill is not paid by the due date, the bill is delinquent and the water service is subject to disconnection.
A payment drop box is located in the village hall’s parking lot for your convenience. However, it is not recommended to leave cash payments in the drop box. Bills can be paid at the village hall at: 3317 Chicago Road South Chicago Heights, IL 60411
Online payments will be available Fall 2017.
New Owner or Tenant
If you are a new owner or tenant, please make sure a final utility bill for the previous occupant has been completed and paid in full. An important note - utility bills are generated for services to each residential or commercial property within the village, therefore, any unpaid utility bill for services rendered to each property, is subject to disconnection of services until outstanding balance is paid in full. A new occupant must complete a water application and pay the required deposit to the Village of South Chicago Heights Water Department.
