Zoning Ordinance Code Book

The Village of South Chicago Heights recently adopted a new Zoning Ordinance Code in August 2016.  The purpose and intent of the new zoning code was to improve and protect the public health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare of the people of South Chicago Heights.

Application for Development Approval  

This application is used when consideration by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Village Board of Trustees is required.  Items listed below require a public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission.

  • Special Use - the special use permits are identified in Chapter 6, Section 1-201 of the zoning ordinance code book

Zoning Map with Classifications and Legend

The standards, requirements, and district mapping contained in the code are reflected on the Village's Zoning Map and are intended to implement all elements of the Village's Comprehensive Plan, including the land use component, and the planning policies of the Village.
